Sista Afia has publicly addressed the criticism that followed her 10th Anniversary All-White Party concert in Koforidua, after an unplanned stage appearance by Tracy Shay triggered sharp reactions online.
Attention shifted to the event when a video began circulating on social media showing Tracy Shay performing during the concert. Tracy Shay, who is mentored by Wendy Shay, quickly became the center of debate, especially after Wendy Shay posted a cryptic message the day after the show. Many fans interpreted the post as an expression of dissatisfaction, suggesting the appearance had not been sanctioned.
With speculation intensifying, Sista Afia released a statement to clarify her position, firmly rejecting suggestions that she personally invited Tracy Shay to perform.
“My attention has been drawn to a number of social media stories, videos, and write-ups suggesting that I personally invited the young lady, Tracy Shay, onto the stage during my concert,” she stated.
She went further to distance herself from the incident, insisting she had no role in how the performance came about.
“I wish to clearly state that I have no knowledge of how or when she got onto the stage, and I did not personally invite her to do so,” she added.
Sista Afia also stressed that her attention remains fixed on the significance of the concert itself, which marked a decade of her career in music, a milestone she described as deeply important.
“At this moment, my main focus is on the overall success of my 10th Anniversary Celebration in the music industry, which was a significant milestone for my career,” Sista Afia averred.
She also disclosed that her team is conducting internal reviews to understand how the situation unfolded, noting that a fuller response will be shared once those discussions are concluded.
“I am currently holding a series of meetings with my management and team to review all aspects of the event. A detailed response on this matter will be issued at the appropriate time.”
Despite the debate, the Ghanaian singer expressed appreciation for the support she received during the anniversary celebration, thanking fans, industry colleagues, sponsors, and members of the public who showed up for the occasion.
“Once again, I sincerely thank my fans, supporters, colleagues, sponsors, and the general public for the immense love and support shown to me during this historic celebration. Your encouragement means everything to me.”
