Adepa’s Father Is a Pastor, Not Castro – Mzbel Sets the Record Straight

Mzbel

Mzbel has once again confronted the public debate about the identity of her son’s father, using a recent media appearance to draw a clear line under long-standing speculation.

Speaking in an interview with ZionFelix, the Ghanaian singer and entrepreneur, born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, dismissed claims that her late colleague Castro fathered her son, Adepa, popularly known as Okomfo Black. She described the rumours as unfounded and insisted they have persisted despite repeated public denials over the years.

Mzbel stressed that Castro was not her child’s biological father and suggested that the reality surrounding Adepa’s parentage is far more complex than what circulates online and in public discussions. According to her, openly naming the real father would trigger a wave of controversy that would not fade anytime soon.

She explained that the sensitivity stems from the fact that her son’s father is a pastor, a revelation she believes would shock many and provoke prolonged debate. She further described him as someone widely regarded as a man of God, reinforcing her point that the popular assumption linking Castro to her son does not add up.

The veteran musician also revisited her past relationship with Castro, recalling how their friendship and professional connection deteriorated after he became closely aligned with prominent footballers, including Asamoah Gyan. She indicated that this change created distance between them and ultimately brought their once strong bond to an end.

Despite addressing the issue on multiple occasions, Mzbel said she remains puzzled by why many Ghanaians continue to associate her son with the late musician. She questioned the persistence of the claims, noting that she has consistently refuted them in public.

The ’16 Years’ singer indicated that she was familiar with Castro’s family and maintained that if he had truly been Adepa’s father, she would never have blocked him or his relatives from having access to the child. In her view, that reality alone should have ended the speculation long ago.
