Slim Buster Warns Young Artistes About Letting Women Fund Their Music Dreams

Slim Buster

Veteran highlife musician Slim Buster has urged up-and-coming artistes to think twice before allowing romantic partners or female benefactors to bankroll their music ambitions, saying the help often carries long-term strings attached.

In a recent interview, the seasoned performer said many young musicians enter the industry with talent but little financial support, pushing them into arrangements that may later restrict their personal choices and professional independence.

Slim Buster argued that money accepted under such circumstances rarely comes without expectations, warning that emotional ties can quickly turn into obligations that shape an artiste’s decisions and lifestyle.

“Most upcoming artistes don’t have money. They depend on some women. When a woman helps you, remember that they will come back for their money,” he said.

He encouraged young talents to weigh the cost of that assistance carefully and to be fully aware of the commitments they are entering into when they accept support.

“Young artistes who are depending on women to finance their music should be very careful. Once you allow a woman to help you, make sure you’re going to stick with them whether they’re good or bad,” he shared.

Slim Buster also cautioned against distancing oneself from such supporters after achieving fame, stressing that success does not erase past dependencies.

“The very moment you decide to move away from them or neglect them because you’ve made it, they will come for you,” Slim Buster further stated.
