Court Denies Showboy Bail Again as Defamation and Cyberbullying Case Deepens

Ghanaian musician and socialite Sam Kwabena Safo Jr, widely known as Showboy, will remain in custody after the Adenta Circuit Court rejected another request for bail in the ongoing case against him.

The artiste appeared in court on March 10, 2026, as proceedings continue over accusations of defamation, blackmail, and cyberbullying brought by Ghanaian businessman Davido GH.

During the hearing, the defence made a fresh attempt to secure bail for Showboy. However, the presiding judge turned down the application, meaning the musician will stay in custody while the court continues to examine the case.

The legal trouble follows a dramatic encounter that took place days earlier at Showboy’s residence.

In a video that quickly spread across social media, individuals believed to be officers from the Criminal Investigation Department attempted to arrest him while he was broadcasting live on TikTok.

The footage shows a tense exchange between the musician and the officers.

In the earlier footage, Showboy appeared visibly upset and challenged the officers, insisting they had failed to present proper arrest documents.

He refused to accompany them, telling both the officers and his online audience that he could not be arrested without official authorization.
