Rev. Victor Kpakpo Jnr, widely known as Azigiza Jnr, has expressed concern over the trend of holding extended church services during weekdays, arguing that the time could be better spent on professional responsibilities.

Speaking on TV3’s Showbiz 360, Azigiza Jnr said he does not support keeping church members in lengthy prayer sessions on working days.

The conversation took place alongside actress and musician Ivy Adjimah, who was asked what she would change about Ghana if given the power for a single day.

“I would love a great mindset change from too much spiritualism. We should be more focused on working and trying to solve problems scientifically, and not only spiritually,” Ivy said, emphasizing the need for a balance between faith and practical thinking.

Azigiza Jnr agreed, acknowledging the importance of spirituality but stressing that work should not be sidelined.

“Unfortunately, quote me anywhere, I am a pastor, but I believe on Monday you should go to work, on Tuesday you should go to work, on Wednesday go to work,” he stated.

He further made clear his stance against pastors holding prolonged prayer sessions during the workweek.

“Why should you keep your members in church and be praying? That one, I do not subscribe to that one,” Rev. Azigiza Jnr further stated.
