Shatta Wale has weighed in on the Black Stars’ recent struggles, and he is not holding back.
The outspoken dancehall artiste reacted after Ghana’s underwhelming outings in friendly games against Austria and Germany, using a live TikTok session to vent his frustration and push a clear demand.
At the centre of his message is a call to the Ghana Football Association to bring back former captain Dede Ayew for the upcoming World Cup squad. He argued that Ayew’s presence, especially alongside his brother Jordan Ayew, could restore balance and lift the team’s spirit.
Shatta Wale stressed that the long-standing connection between the Ayew brothers remains a valuable asset on the pitch, suggesting it could positively influence the rest of the squad.
“They have to include Dede Ayew in the World Cup team. We are pleading, it’s not by force, but we are begging that he should be part of the team. We are kneeling… so he can support Jordan because of their strong connection. When they are on the pitch, they uplift the entire team. I am very devastated about all this,” he said.
Apart from the selection debate, the artiste turned his criticism toward the Ghana national football team, questioning their ambition and mindset following the disappointing results.
“Black Stars, let me ask you something: do you want to compete for the World Cup or something else? If it’s something else, I would understand because it seems we are not used to winning trophies. Maybe they should create a ‘World Bottle’ for you to compete in. Don’t you drink water at all, or do you want a ‘World Spoon’?” Shatta Wale questioned.
