The heated public reaction trailing business mogul Richard Nii Armah Quaye’s recent appearance on The Delay Show has now spilled into the legal arena, after his former wife, Joana Quaye, responded through her lawyers with a strongly worded statement.
Dated April 27, 2026, and issued by Dame & Partners, the legal team representing Joana Quaye rejected several assertions made by Mr. Quaye during his widely shared conversation with media host Deloris Frimpong Manso.
The statement, which has been circulating widely online, directly contests the version of events presented in the interview and introduces a sharply different account of the couple’s history. It also raises concerns about accuracy, timing, and the possible impact of making such claims while court processes are still ongoing.
According to the lawyers, the interview was conducted while proceedings between the former couple remain active at the Court of Appeal. On that basis, they argue that publicly discussing contested matters at this stage is inappropriate and could risk influencing the case.
They further maintain that several of the claims attributed to Mr. Quaye are false and have the effect of damaging Joana Quaye’s reputation.
A key point of contention is Mr. Quaye’s assertion that he was already financially established before meeting his ex-wife. His former spouse’s legal team disputes this entirely, relying on court documentation to support their position.
They state that the couple married in 2010, shortly after Mr. Quaye returned from the United Kingdom in 2009, a period they describe as one in which he was not employed and did not possess the assets he now references publicly.
The lawyers add that these details are not open to interpretation, pointing to High Court records dated March 13, 2024, as the official basis of their account, which they say cannot be altered through media narratives.
