Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz has praised his squad’s discipline and growing understanding of his tactical approach, insisting the team is on a positive path as preparations continue.
After Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Wales in their final pre-World Cup warm-up match, the Portuguese manager pointed to the players’ attentiveness and willingness to carry out instructions as a key takeaway from the performance.
“What really pleased me a lot is the way the players listened to my instruction, my game plan; they were very respectful,” Queiroz said.
Even with the stalemate, Queiroz struck an upbeat tone about the direction of the team. He is convinced that sustained training and consistency in following his methods will sharpen the Black Stars ahead of the tournament.
The Ghana national football team will begin their Group L journey on June 17 against Panama, before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27. For Queiroz, the early signs suggest a squad steadily building cohesion at the right moment.
