Florence Obinim Ready to Change Stage Name If Bishop Obinim Requests It

Florence Obinim

Gospel musician Florence Obinim has revealed that she is open to changing her stage name if circumstances require it, saying her identity and purpose are not tied to the surname she currently carries.

Speaking during an interview on Peace FM, Florence addressed conversations about whether she would consider rebranding herself amid public discussions surrounding her marriage to Bishop Daniel Obinim.

She explained that although names can carry personal meaning and emotional connections, they do not determine a person’s destiny or calling. According to her, the most important things are one’s identity, purpose, and the divine direction guiding their life and work.

The gospel singer was specifically asked if she would remove Bishop Obinim’s surname from her professional name should their marital situation change.

Florence said she would respect such a request if it came from her husband and would have no difficulty adopting a different stage name.

“If Bishop ever asks me to remove his surname from my name, I would do so and choose another name,” she said.

Her remarks come amid heightened public interest in the state of her 22-year marriage to Bishop Obinim, following recent comments about difficulties within their relationship.

The founder of International God’s Way Church has publicly spoken about his struggles in the marriage, expressing dissatisfaction with the situation and claiming that he experiences emotional discomfort, particularly when returning home.

Responding to the concerns surrounding their union, Florence maintained that she has made efforts over the years to protect the marriage and create stability within their home.

However, she indicated that she would not prevent her husband from making a decision to end the relationship if he chooses that path, adding that she would accept the outcome rather than force a marriage that no longer works.
