‘He Didn’t Start Giving to People Today’ – Wayoosi Defends Salinko

Wayoosi

Wayoosi has shared a deeper account of Salinko’s character as the Kumawood actor faces scrutiny over his recent display of generosity.

The veteran actor says his colleague has never been a stranger to giving, insisting that Salinko’s decision to gift cars and promise financial support to some actors is consistent with the person he has known for years.

Salinko recently attracted widespread attention after videos of him giving out cars and pledging money to members of the film industry circulated online.

The development, however, sparked questions from some social media users, who demanded that the source of his wealth be investigated.

But Wayoosi, speaking in an interview shared on X, has urged people to look beyond the recent videos and consider Salinko’s long-standing nature.

He explained that Salinko is the kind of person who derives satisfaction from helping others and can give away what he has, even when doing so leaves him with very little.

Wayoosi said he has personally benefited from Salinko’s generosity on several occasions, adding that the actor also regularly shared his earnings with crew members after completing movie productions.

“Ever since I got to know Salinko, if he was the one holding this phone and you told him that you wanted it, he would give you the phone and take only his SIM card. This is not the first time I have seen him giving out cash.

“Sometimes, he can have money, but when someone asks him for money, he would dash the money and go hungry. We can be on set; immediately we are done with production and receive our money, Salinko go share the money with the crew,” he said.

The actor’s generosity, according to Wayoosi, has also extended to major personal sacrifices.

He recalled an incident involving Salinko’s former marriage, claiming that the actor gave his only car to his former father-in-law during their divorce.

“During their divorce, Salinko gave his ex-wife’s father his car, and he was walking; it was even a Benz. He didn’t start giving to people today. He is someone who thinks about people.

“I see that the way he has been recognised by others lately is through the blessing of God,” Wayoosi further stated.
