Obinim Insists Marriage to Florence Has Not Collapsed Despite Separation

Bishop Daniel Obinim and his wife Florence Obinim

Bishop Daniel Obinim has insisted that his marriage to Florence Obinim remains intact despite their reported separation, but says he will not return to their matrimonial home unless she agrees to certain conditions.

The founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church made the remarks during a sermon, where he discussed the state of his marriage and referred to documents presented in court.

According to the preacher, Florence told the court that she was still living in their matrimonial home, while indicating that he was the one who had left.

“My marriage has not collapsed. The woman is still in my house. When this matter was presented to court and we were reading the documents, the woman said she’s still living in her matrimonial home.

“Florence told the court that she’s still in the marriage, but I’m the one who walked out of the marriage. She also stated in the document that she asked her family to come and tell me that I’ve packed my stuff and left the house,” he said.

Obinim maintained that the marriage had not been formally dissolved, arguing that a judge could direct him to return to the relationship if the matter were determined in court.

However, he made it clear that such a possibility would depend on Florence’s willingness to meet his demands.

The preacher identified her association with people he considers his enemies as a major concern, insisting that she would have to distance herself from them before he would consider returning home.

He also indicated that he would seek a formal commitment from Florence through the court to ensure she complies with the condition.

Obinim said he would rather see the marriage dissolved without further delay if she refused to agree to his terms.

“Even if I consider going back, it will be on the condition that she stays away from the people she has gotten close to. If she won’t do that, then the marriage should be cancelled as soon as possible,” he divulged.

Obinim further explained that any decision to return would require Florence to sign a bond pledging not to associate with those he regards as his enemies.

“If she agrees to stay away from them, I will tell the judge to let her sign a bond that she will never go close to my enemies, and if she does, I will pack out again and never return.”
