Akwaboah Calls Out Silent Jealousy on Social Media Among Friends

Akwaboah

Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Akwaboah, has voiced concern over what he calls a quiet but corrosive form of jealousy festering on social media, often disguised as friendship.

Taking to his social platforms, the ‘Posti Me’ singer called attention to how envy subtly operates in digital spaces, especially among close acquaintances.

He noted that many people are quick to ignore posts celebrating personal milestones or professional progress, yet eagerly engage when negativity is involved.

“Jealousy on social media is real. Your own friends will scroll past your progress! Yet they will screenshot the insults from masses and send you,” Akwaboah wrote.

According to him, social media, originally envisioned as a place for connection and support, has increasingly become a stage where passive rivalry overshadows genuine encouragement.
