Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has revealed the heartfelt reason behind his decision to donate a plot of land to Ghanaian screen icon Adwoa Smart. According to him, the generous act was inspired by a mix of empathy and a divine nudge he couldn’t ignore.
Speaking in a video, Kwaku Manu said he felt moved to help after learning about the veteran actress’s housing struggles. Before their recent interview, Adwoa Smart had spoken to him about a piece of land she owned in Dodowa and her hopes of building a home there. However, after visiting the location, Manu was convinced the site was unfit for development.
“Before we started the interview, she informed me about her land in Dodowa. We went to have a look at it. When I got there, the land was in a marshy area. And it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to plead with Ghanaians to support her to build at that place,” he explained.
Compelled to intervene, he decided to offer her a more viable alternative.
“I told her I had a land in Amasaman satellite and if she is interested. I would gift it to her. When we got there, she was happy with the location,” he said.
Kwaku Manu stressed that the idea to give away the land was spontaneous, driven by a sense of spiritual clarity.
“God is the one who asked me to gift her the land. I didn’t have it in mind to gift her the land. But based on what she said. That prompted me to do that.”
Taking his generosity a step further, the actor has launched a public fundraising effort to construct a two-bedroom house for Adwoa Smart on the newly donated plot.
“After the interview, I did a TikTok live asking Ghanaians to assist me so I can build a two-bedroom for her,” Kwaku Manu further stated.
