Louisa Adinkra Reflects on Failed Marriage, Says She Saw the Signs Too Late

Louisa Adinkra

Ghanaian actress Louisa Adinkra has opened up about the end of her marriage, describing it as a difficult period she now believes she saw coming long before it happened.

Speaking in a recent interview with Emelia Brobbey on Adom TV, she revealed that she has lived on her own for seven years since the relationship ended.

“I’m no longer married. I’ve been single for about seven years now,” Louisa disclosed.

Looking back, she said the experience has reshaped how she approaches relationships, especially when it comes to trust and the people she allows into her personal space.

“You need to be scared and cautious about people. The scary part is, the ones you bring closer are the ones who would hurt you the most,” she stated.

She explained that the breakup did not stem from a single issue, although one particular situation remains central in her memory. According to her, someone she trusted deeply and welcomed into her home later became a major strain on the marriage.

“My marriage ended in so many angles. There was one particular person who was very close to me. She was part of my husband’s family. When I brought her to stay with me, a lot of people were against it. I didn’t know what I saw in her but I liked her so much. She played a major role in my marriage not working,” she indicated.

Louisa also recalled that her former husband had often warned her about the company she kept, but she did not fully appreciate those concerns at the time.

“My ex-husband used to warn me to be careful of my friends, but when I check around, I don’t see any friend who’s that close to me,” she explained.

With hindsight, she now believes there were clear warning signs even during the early stages of the relationship, though her emotions overruled them.

“I had always known my marriage would collapse. During our dating moments, whenever I was going to my ex-husband’s house, people asked me if I could cope. That should have been a signal to me, but I didn’t pay attention, and I was in love,” she divulged.

She said the marriage lasted close to nine years and admits she now questions how that time was spent.

“I was married for close to nine years. Looking at my age now and the number of years I was married, I feel I’ve wasted my time,” Louisa Adinkra further stated.
