A resurfaced interview of Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo is drawing renewed attention online after the actress spoke candidly about her deep fears of cancer and the painful losses her family has endured because of the disease.
Speaking in an interview with Joy News, Beverly opened up about how cancer claimed the lives of both her father and sister, a reality she said has left her constantly anxious about her own health.
“My life is at risk now because now I can confirm it’s in my genes,” she said during the emotional conversation.
Beverly explained that her late sister suffered multiple forms of cancer before eventually passing away, describing the painful journey the family witnessed over the years.
“Oh, she went through different types of cancers, from the breast to the spine, to the brain, to the blood, everywhere,” Beverly recounted emotionally.
The actress said watching her sister battle the illness while also mourning her father’s death has made cancer feel frighteningly close to home, leaving her with the belief that the disease may run strongly through her family bloodline.
Even while speaking about her fears, Beverly used the interview to urge people to pay closer attention to their health and take preventive care seriously.
