Mr Beautiful claims Akrobeto was forced to wash the car of Agya Koo

Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, has made a striking claim against fellow actor Agya Koo.

He recounted an incident in which Akrobeto was allegedly forced to wash Agya Koo’s car when he was new to the movie industry.

According to Mr. Beautiful, Agya Koo, at the height of his fame in the Kumawood movie scene, perceived him as a threat and did not like him. He acknowledged that Agya Koo, whose real name is Alex Kofi Adu, was a dominant force in the Ghanaian film industry, particularly after the passing of veteran actor Santo.

In a recent interview, Mr. Beautiful expressed admiration for Agya Koo’s contributions to local films but claimed that Agya Koo was unwelcoming to rising stars, especially those who could challenge his dominance.

“When Agya Koo became popular, he wanted to be the only one in the spotlight,” Mr. Beautiful said. He further alleged that Agya Koo would sometimes delay productions if he was traveling abroad, and producers who didn’t meet his demands risked being blacklisted.

“Agya Koo didn’t want to be cast alongside me as a lead because he knew I could gain fame by association,” Mr. Beautiful continued. “It was a smart move on his part, as he wanted to maintain his influence and monopoly.” He added that several producers confirmed Agya Koo’s refusal to work with him due to feeling threatened.

Mr. Beautiful also recounted how producers employed various strategies to manage Agya Koo’s behavior, especially after Akrobeto joined the industry. To prevent tension between the two, Miracle Films allegedly had Akrobeto wash Agya Koo’s cars, which helped foster a bond between them.

Although Mr. Beautiful acknowledged Agya Koo’s immense talent, he pointed out that this particular behavior eventually led producers to limit Agya Koo’s roles, resulting in fewer collaborations over time.
