Touching down in the United States, the Ghana national football team have begun their final stretch of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The squad arrived after departing Wales on Wednesday, following their pre-tournament friendly in Cardiff. They are now set to base themselves at Bryant University in Providence, Rhode Island, where their training camp will continue ahead of the competition.
Their arrival drew an enthusiastic reception, with supporters greeting the players, taking photos, and collecting autographs as the team settled into camp.
On the pitch, Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Wales on Tuesday offered a much-needed lift, marking their first positive result since October 2025. It also ended a difficult run of four straight defeats across the November and March international windows.
The Black Stars are scheduled to take on Jamaica on June 10 in their final warm-up fixture before turning their attention to the tournament proper.
At the World Cup, Ghana have been placed in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama as they aim to reach the knockout stage for the first time since their 2010 breakthrough. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will officially kick off their campaign on June 17 against Panama.
