Veteran broadcaster and Presidential Special Envoy to the Caribbean, Kwasi Kyei Darkwa, well known as KKD, has shared the personal advice that convinced him to marry at a young age, revealing that a conversation with his uncle played a decisive role in shaping one of the biggest decisions of his life.
Speaking during an interview on Power FM, KKD said the guidance came at a time when he was still finding his way as a young man. According to him, his uncle believed that waiting too long before settling down could have unintended consequences when it came to finding a life partner.
Recalling the discussion, he said:
“I hope everyone gets a good marriage. I got married early because my uncle gave me some advice. He told me that even though I had no money, ladies were still all over me.
“He added that when I eventually got money, even more women would come around. But if I delayed marriage for too long, fools would be with the woman who would later become my wife. And I realised there was some truth in what he said,” he stated.
The remarks have since generated lively debate across social media platforms. While some users applauded KKD for being candid about the influence family advice had on his decision to marry early, others challenged the notion that postponing marriage has any bearing on the quality or success of future relationships.
