Actress and social media personality Akuapem Poloo has opened up about turning down a cosmetic surgery offer from a former partner who was willing to foot the bill for a buttocks enhancement procedure.
Speaking on Atuu with Nana Romeo, Poloo recounted how close she came to undergoing the surgery before deciding against it after giving the matter serious thought.
“I was once dating a man who told me to go and do buttocks enhancement surgery and he would pay for it. I nearly did it, but I thought about it thoroughly and decided not to do it,” she said.
According to her, the suggestion did not come out of nowhere. She said she had observed that her then-boyfriend seemed drawn to women with surgically enhanced bodies, particularly judging by the accounts he followed online.
“Sometimes, you get frustrated, especially when you realise he only follows women who have undergone surgery on his social media platforms. We ladies normally do check the kind of women our men follow,” she stated.
Poloo explained that women often pay attention to details about their partners that men may not even realise are being noticed.
“When I’m in love with you, there are some things I would find out about you and you would think I don’t know,” she shared.
She further argued that some men create an environment that pushes women toward altering their appearance, only to distance themselves from that influence later.
“Some men frustrate their partners to enhance their body, but they would tend to deny the fact that they made you do it. They surround themselves with women who have enhanced their bodies, but they don’t end up marrying such women,” she claimed.
Reflecting on relationships and body image, the actress maintained that many men admire enhanced figures but ultimately value natural looks in long-term partners.
“Most women who have done their body can’t keep men in their lives. That’s because men want their women to have a natural body. They don’t also respect them because they think they have a perfect body,” Akuapem Poloo stated.
