The public fallout between Bishop Daniel Obinim and his estranged wife, gospel musician Florence Obinim, has intensified after the founder of the International God’s Way Church reacted to comments she made about their marriage during a recent radio interview.
Florence Obinim appeared on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review hosted by Ola Michael on Thursday, June 25, 2026, where she spoke about receiving a brand-new white 2025 Toyota RAV4 from Service Machinery Ghana Limited (SMGL) and also addressed issues surrounding her relationship with Bishop Obinim.
Speaking about the vehicle, Florence revealed that she never specifically asked God for a car but believed the gift came as a result of divine favour.
“I didn’t even pray for the car, I won’t lie to you. All I did was praise and worship God, and He saw my plight and blessed me accordingly,” she stated.
She, however, disclosed that she had personally prayed for an iPhone 17 Pro Max and claimed that Bishop Obinim later surprised her with the phone just three days after her prayer, even though she had not told him she wanted one.
The gospel singer also revisited claims about her financial situation during the marriage, stating that she previously had no personal vehicle despite being married to a well-known pastor. She explained that she depended on Uber and public transport while alleging that a large portion of her music earnings was managed by her husband, which left her struggling financially.
Hours after the interview was aired, Bishop Obinim responded in a video message, addressing the claims and warning Florence against making further comments about him in the media.
The outspoken preacher said he had spent the night in prayer and had not slept before deciding to publicly react to the matter.
He accused Florence of using media appearances to promote her new song while making statements he considered damaging to his reputation.
Obinim cautioned her to stop discussing issues about him publicly, adding that if she continued to provoke him, he would be forced to reveal information about her.
“If you don’t take time, I will disgrace you,” he warned in the video.
The pastor further claimed that exposing certain details about Florence could have serious consequences, including affecting the relationship she currently shares with their children.
He suggested that revealing those matters could even lead to their children changing their perception of her and damaging the bond they have built with her.
Bishop Obinim also dismissed the attention surrounding Florence’s new Toyota RAV4, arguing that the vehicle did not match the level he believed she deserved.
According to him, he had purchased a similar car for her more than 16 years ago during their marriage, and he expected her to receive something more valuable at this point in her life.
He concluded by advising Florence Obinim to concentrate on her music career rather than granting interviews that, in his view, create a negative impression about him.
