Police Sign MoU with UCC to train Investigators.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the UCC and the Ghana Police Service, to affiliate the Police Detective Training Academy to the Department of Forensic Sciences of UCC.

The ceremony took place at the Academic Board Chamber of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) at a colourful ceremony.

The MoU was signed by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh and the Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, together with the respective heads of the respective departments of the two institutions.

The IGP and the Vice Chancellor commended each other for the commitment shown towards this agreement.

They also expressed the hope that, the partnership will lead to sharing expertise, setting the minimum quality standards for Police Investigators and other Investigators trained at the DTA and leveraging existing facilities among others.

Present at the ceremony were members of the University management and the Police Management Board.
