Final year students of Bright Senior High School at Akyem – Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region have beaten an official of WAEC and a Journalist.
An official of the West Africa Examinations Council(WAEC) who is yet to be identified and a journalist with Daily Graphic, Pacome Emmanuel Damalie. The two had gone to the school to the school perform their official duties.
The Journalist was given a hot chase and attacked with sticks, stones and cutlasses. Military, BNI were called to intervene.
Information available to First News has it that, WAEC deployed biometric system to verify identity of each candidate at the Exams Hall, an exercise the Proprietor of Bright SHS, Bright Amponsah rejected and incited students against WAEC officials leading to the assault on the invigilators and Journalists.
The two were rushed to Community Hospital at Akyem Kukurantumi for treatment.
