French President, Macron Tests Positive To COVID-19

The French President, Emmanuel Macron has become the latest world leader to have tested positive to COVID-19.

Information available to First News has it that, Macron,42, showed early signs of the disease and would self-isolate for seven days.

According to statement from Macron’s outfit, he would be working from his isolation. It is still unclear as where President Macron contracted the disease.

France is among the worst hit country’s by COVID-19 in Europe. It has so far recorded 2,409,062 death cases,59,361 deaths and 180,311 recovered cases. Following the incident, some world leaders who came into contact with President Macron are self isolating.

Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel has  began isolating as he waits for his test results. The Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa has also began his self isolation.

The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces
