Friends Of Kwasi Ameyaw-Chereme Condemns Circulation Of OF Fake Video

A group calling itself Friends of Lawyer Kwasi Ameyaw- Cheremeh has condemned a video circulating on Social media purporting that Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh voted against Professor Aaron Mike Ocquaye.

Addressing a presser in Sunyani, the group admonished NPP supporters to disregard the distorted videos circulating on Social Media that the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh voted against Professor Aaron Mike Ocquaye during the selection of a new Speaker of Parliament.

Spokesperson for the group and aide to MP For Sunyani East Constituency, Abubakari Yakubu cited the aide of the Bono Regional Minister, Maxwell Mahama of being behind the circulation of the video.

Abubakari Yakubu noted that the Sunyani East MP is someone who has been fighting corruption this he noted lead to the release of the doctored video.

“The Hon MP for Sunyani East has been fighting them over illegal sale of state lands which have been reserved for future use by the state. For example, the parcel of land opposite the Regional Police Headquarters and the old abattoir among others. With this selfless resistance by the MP, they saw him as a threat hence the release of the said distorted and concocted video tape,” Abubakari Yakubu noted.

He also added that the Bono Regional Minister, Mrs Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson collaborated with the Sunyani East Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Frank Musah Damtarl to drag the name of the Lawyer Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh in the mud and also make him unpopular among the constituents.

Abubakari Yakubu stated categorically that the Sunyani East Legislator never voted against Professor Aaron Mike Ocquaye.

“I wish to state emphatically clear that, Lawyer Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the MP for Sunyani East is not a coward but he is a very respected and a principal gentleman, in fact, the MP, as we know him, would not have minced words in admitting that he voted against the former Speaker of Parliament as portrayed in the distorted video.”
