11-Day-Old Baby Test Positive To COVID-19 At KATH

Information available to First News has it that a 11-day-old baby is among nine children who have tested positive to COVID-19 at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

Professor Sampson Antwi, Head of Child Health Directorate at KATH disclosed this to First News.

Professor Antwi noted that all the nine cases were recorded in the last eleven days.

He noted that 14 children tested positive to COVID-19 at KATH in 2020 with the youngest child being 3 -year-old.

Professor Antwi noted that PPEs are not a challenge but they lack enough space to accommodate more children in case they get more cases.

Ghana has so far recorded 62,751 COVID-19 cases, 58,561 recovered cases, 377 deaths and 3,813 active cases.
