Techimanhene Wins Bono East Regional Council Of State Elections

The Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Area in the Bono East Region, Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV has been elected to represent the region as Council of State member.

The Bono East Regional Council of State elections was postponed after some Assembly Members placed a court injunction on the elections after their names were taken out of the Voter Register.

The three Assembly Members were; Afolabi Kennedy, Issah Mubarack, and Paul Adu Frimpong.

Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV polled 22 votes out of the total votes to defeat Agyapong Adu-Baah.

Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV in his acceptance speech said, “Now my vision is about the development of the area. I am asking them [the electoral college] to team up with me and then negotiate with the government for development and also strengthen the capacity of the youth in terms of education and other interventions.”

Before the elections, the eight other contestants stepped down.
