The Immediate Past Ghana’s Ambassador To Denmark Donates Books To Schools In Wenchi

The immediate past Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, Her Excellency Amerley Oleenu Awuah Asamoah has donated over 1000 pieces of books to four Senior High Schools within Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.

According to Her Excellency Amerley Oleenu Awuah Asamoah noted that the donation of the books  was in a bid to promote and improve the reading skills of students in the Wenchi Municipality.

“I believe you all know the importance of libraries and especially libraries in schools that is Senior High schools or secondary schools or universities, reading is very, very important and I will say that reading is a healthy lifestyle that everybody who want to aspire or to live long shall be encourage to do, reading gives information, you become more knowledgeable, it gives you ideas, it makes you creative and what even reflect is that when you read books it relaxes you,” She said.

Her Excellency Amerley Oleenu Awuah Asamoah (Mrs.) again said that as students who are being taught to know a lot about many things and also aspiring to be great citizens in this country reading is very, very important for them.

The beneficiary schools included; Wenchi Methodist Senior High School, Koase Senior High Technical School, Istiiqaama Senior High School and Nchiraa Senior High School.

The book drive was organized by The Talent – Tree, with donations from Copenhagen International School, Read for Life, Bernadotte School and the American Women’s Club, Denmark.

Representatives from the above-mentioned schools who are also teachers thanked Her Excellency Amerley Oleenu Awuah Asamoah and gave assurance that they will make sure that students make good use of the reading materials and improve their reading skills.
