Suspect In Sowutuom Murder Arrested
The Police at Sowutuom have arrested a man they suspect murdered a 73-year-old man at Sowutuom in Accra.
Suspect Solomon Kwame Boadu is alleged to have killed Kwesi Wiafe in his room at Sowutuom.
The Public Relations Officer in charge of the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Office, DSP Effia Tenge said reports received suggest that on the evening of Monday June 28, 2021, Sowutuom police received a report from a complainant that they heard Kwesi Wiafe, now deceased, screaming that he was being killed and needed police assistance.
“Police together with the complainant quickly proceeded to the scene and met Kwesi Wiafe lying dead in a pool of blood with multiple cuts on the head,” DSP Tenge disclosed.
She said police search in the house led to the arrest of the suspect who was hiding in the ceiling of the room. He was brought to the station after he led police to retrieve a pistol used in the murder of the deceased.
DSP Tenge said the body was conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy but suspect is in custody assisting with investigations.
