Fire Destroys Don Bosco Vocational Technical Hostel

Fire has destroyed a hostel belonging to the Don Bosco Vocational Technical School at Odumasi in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region.

Fire, on Tuesday, destroyed a hostel belonging to the Don Bosco Vocational Technical School at Odumasi in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region.

The inferno destroyed books, trunks and other items belonging to the students and the Vice Principal of the school. These students were seen retrieving some of their items from the remnants of the fire. Twenty-two final year students have been affected by the incident.

ADO2 lnnocent Dodzi Amagnoh is an investigation Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service. He led the team of fire officers to the scene and he has been speaking to Citi News.

“We had a distress call around 11:40 am by 11:46 am we had arrived on scene. On our way we called another tender, so whiles we were fighting the fire they brought us more water to fight. We are still investigating the cause of the fire.”

The headmaster of the school, Rev. Brother Patrick Sokuu has also been speaking to the News team on how he heard of the fire outbreak.

“I was in the school when I had call from one of my tutors that there is a fire outbreak in one of the hostels where the boys live. When I got to the scene, I saw that the fire has engulfed the place with fire personnel fighting the fire. I am happy the daughter of Vice Principal who was in one of the rooms was saved from the fire.”
