Bird Reportedly Disrupts Engine; KLM Flight Cancelled Before Takeoff From KIA

A KLM flight scheduled for London from Accra faced an unexpected hitch as it prepared to take off from the tarmac at the Kotoko International airport minutes before midnight on Friday, 3rd September, 2021.

The incident prompted the Ghana National Fire Service to arrive at the scene.

Information reaching Citi News suggests that the flight was cancelled after a bird crossed the plane when it was just about to take off.

Eyewitnesses at the scene of the event disclosed to Citi News that the tyres of the plane were initially replaced in anticipation of a resumption of the flight.

The incident according to Eyewitnesses has left some of the passengers stranded and in fear.

According to the engineer, a bird crossed the plane and the pilot was forced into an immediate stop just when the plane was about to take off

It was so severe that it affected the tyres and it had to be changed.

The passengers were in the plane and the engineer said the tyres had become flattened and needed to be changed.

Details of the exact aircraft and it’s scheduled destination were not available to Citi News as of the time the story broke.
