Why I Want To Be The Assembly Member For Gyamfikrom Electoral Area Gyamfikrom in New Juaben North Municipality-Koforidua Eastern Region?
Kankam Twumasi Daniel is a young dedicated gentleman whose love for community development is evident to many in New Juaben North.
I lived in the Electoral Area from 1999 when I was in Basic School till now.At that time, the community was not developed as we see it. I have played major roles to improve the following fields in the community such as;
1.Sanitation: through his involvement, the community dump site which was disastrous and was a worry to many in the community was completely cleared from the place. Currently, the site is clean. It’s in my plans to use the place as a lorry station when given the nod. When given the opportunity, I will work closely with the Municipal Environmental Health and Sanitation, NADMO, and other Environmental and Sanitation Agencies to help improve the sanitation situation in the Area. The services of Private Sanitation Companies will be made accessible and affordable through leadership negotiations for the people in the Area.
2. Security: As a Disaster Management Officer in the Municipality, I’ve played major roles to help improve the security situation in the Area. When given the nod, I promise to do more. I will make sure the street lighting system in the Area improves which will go a long way to help improve the security situation in the Area. I will lobby for a Police Post in the Area. With my links, everyone knows I can do it.
3.The Welfare of Citizens: In the area of health, I promise to help improve the standard of our CHIP Compound by lobbying for more health instruments for the facility as I’ve been doing. A few months ago, through my lobbying efforts, a multipurpose health instrument was donated to the facility by Hon. William Amankrah. I will do more when given the nod.
I will work closely with the National Health Insurance Scheme in the Municipality to make sure their services are close to the people in the Area. The poor or less privileged people in the Area will be registered onto the Scheme freely through my lobbying styles and the benevolence of philanthropists that I know. It’s an open fact in the Municipality that I’m very close to most big men in the Municipality. Through my relationship, I will make sure good things come to my Area.
4.Education: As someone who loves education, I will work with all the departments in the field of education to help improve educational standards in the Area. I will lobby for teaching and learning materials for all schools (both government and private) in my Area. This will be possible when we work together as a community under good leadership. I will work closely with all educational institutions in my Area and the Municipality to ensure proper access to qualified education is available and delivered to people in the Area.
5.Road Access: Most of the early settlers in the Area know the role I’ve played in this field. I will make sure, access to road networks improves in the Area. Making good use of my relationship with Departmental Heads and other Government Officials that I know in and outside the Municipality will be my topmost priority which will go a long way to help improve most fields in my Area when given the nod.
NB: I will form various fields committees in the Area with the help of Opinion Leaders to facilitate the smooth flow of improvements and developments in the Area . The committees may include;
1.Leadership of Religious Organizations.
2.Management of schools “both government and private”
3.Management of health facilities in the Area “both government and private “
4.Leadership of the various family clans and tribal divisions in the Area.
5.Local Chiefs in the Area.
I will work closely with Religious Denominations in the Area to help improve both security and health situations in the Area. Since I work at the Municipal Assembly, I have close relationships with most of the Heads of Departments in the Municipality. I will make good use of these relationships to help improve the living standards in the Area. There are many more I will do for the Area when given the opportunity apart from the listed above.
