Farida Antwi, a third-year student at Kintampo College of Health in the Bono East Region, has publicly apologized for disseminating false information regarding the colour change of Kintampo Waterfalls, which she erroneously linked to illegal mining (galamsey).
After a video of the Kintampo Waterfalls displaying a colour shift went viral last week, Farida Antwi was apprehended by the Kintampo Police for her misleading statements.
She has since expressed regret and acknowledged the dissemination of inaccurate information.
The Manager at the Kintampo Waterfalls, Michael Afake attributed the colour change at the waterfall to heavy rains recorded in the area and not galamsey as alleged by Farida Antwi and Yaa Titi Okrah of Onua FM and TV.
