Yaw Anim Papa Sarpong Breaks Kumaca’s 10-Year-Old Record With 8As
Yaw Anim Papa Sarpong, a former student of Kumasi Academy (Kumaca) and a representative of the school at the 2023 National Maths and Science Quiz, has achieved a remarkable feat in the recently released 2023 West African Senior Secondary School Examination (WASSCE) results conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
Sarpong secured an outstanding 8As, setting a new record for Kumaca, where no student had accomplished this in the past decade.
In an interview, Sarpong expressed his satisfaction with the success he achieved, attributing it to thorough preparation for the exams. He stated, “I am pleased to have shattered the 10-year-old record at Kumaca, where no one had previously attained 8 As.”
Additionally, within just one month after participating in the National Maths and Science Quiz, Yaw Anim Papa Sarpong demonstrated his academic prowess by taking the global SAT examination, encompassing English and Mathematics. Impressively, he scored 660 in English and 790 in Mathematics, achieving a total score of 1450. This outstanding performance propelled him to be ranked among the top 4% of students worldwide.
