Bono Region: Man  Commits Suicide At Wenchi

A man believed to be in his mid-50s to 60s was allegedly found dead by suicide, hanging from a neem tree behind the House of Power Church in Wenchi Akrobi.

Detective Inspector Edmond Anzoli of the Wenchi District Police CID told Radio West Africa’s Nana Anfreh Damanata that he received a phone call from the Station Officer at the Wenchi District Police Command reporting that a person had hanged himself behind the church. The police informed the local Assemblyman, who then formally reported the incident.

Inspector Anzoli stated that the police visited the scene, where they found the body hanging from a neem tree behind the church. After documenting the scene with photographs, the body was taken down.

The remains have been deposited at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital mortuary. Inspector Anzoli urged residents with missing relatives to come forward for identification and collection of the body.
