Big Akwes has criticized President Akufo-Addo for failing to fulfill his promises.
The actor accused the President of deceiving the movie industry by not delivering on the support he had pledged.
Speaking with Empress Gifty on the show “U Cook”, Big Akwes expressed his dissatisfaction with both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President Akufo-Addo’s government.
“There is no political party more deceitful than the NPP. President Akufo-Addo lied to us. On August 3, 2016, we met with him, and he promised to support the movie industry.
“What he said made me believe in him. I even contributed to his 2016 campaign, but since coming to power, he has done nothing,” Big Akwes stated.
He also reiterated his support for former President John Mahama, saying, “I am a full NDC member, and if you’re looking for an actor in the movie industry who has openly declared support for the NDC, I think I’d be the first. I have even implemented the Good Government Card to raise funds for Mahama’s campaign.”
Addressing independent candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, Big Akwes added, “Cheddar doesn’t know what he’s saying. How can he claim he’ll bring the sea to Kumasi? Is that even possible?”
