The publicist for gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye has explained why she did not appear on Nana Ama McBrown’s show, which aired on Onua TV.
Gifty was scheduled to appear on Onua Showtime on Sunday, with both McBrown and Gifty promoting the episode on social media. However, when the day came, Empress Gifty was unable to make it, leading to speculation.
Amid rumors that she may have been prevented from appearing on McBrown’s show due to her association with UTV, her publicist, Edem Mensah-Tsotorme, refuted these claims.
Edem explained to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that Gifty’s absence was not due to any ill will. He revealed that after performing at a thanksgiving event for Dr. Osei Kwame Despite’s in-law, Gifty received a distress call informing her that her daughter had fallen ill at school. She had to rush to Akosombo in the Eastern Region to attend to her daughter, who was later transferred to Tema for treatment.
Edem also mentioned that Gifty lost her phone during this period, but he made sure to contact McBrown’s production team to explain the situation.
He emphasized that there was no malice involved and that Empress Gifty and McBrown remain good friends.
