Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye has revealed that she frequently receives phone calls from people threatening her husband’s life.
The singer, who is married to prominent Ghanaian politician Hopeson Adorye, shared that the calls often come late at night. Her husband, once a dedicated member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), later joined Alan Kyerematen’s ‘Movement for Change.’
Gifty acknowledged the seriousness of these death threats but remains unfazed, trusting in God’s protection.
“I always receive a lot of calls from people threatening my husband’s life. But I understand the nature of our work, so we need spiritual backing. When I encounter these threats, I tackle them from a spiritual perspective through prayer,” she explained in an interview on Mahyease TV.
The Watch Me singer went on to describe her husband as calm and quiet at home.
“My husband is a peaceful person who barely talks. If you hear him, it’s likely because he’s calling to say he’s hungry. People shouldn’t be deceived by what they see on television or social media,” Empress Gifty said.
Gifty and Mr. Adorye married in 2018.
