Renowned Ghanaian producer Appiah Dankwah, famously known as Appietus, says his long-standing career in music has not only earned him acclaim but also paved the way for lasting financial independence and entrepreneurial success.
In an interview on Hitz FM aired July 9, 2025, Appietus discussed how his involvement in the music business has evolved from beat production into a gateway for launching other lucrative ventures in Ghana.
“I’ve made quite a good amount of money from this. I’m always thankful to God, no matter what. It was this same job that gave me the name that was able to propel my other businesses. So, I’m grateful. I am always grateful,” he said.
According to him, the wealth he’s built through music has come not just from production credits but from using his name and reputation to diversify into other income-generating activities.
“Obviously! This same job is taking me to places and bigger stages. And I have made a big name for myself being a music producer. I have been celebrated by some Ghanaians and awarded by Ghanaians,” Appietus added, pointing to the respect he commands both locally and abroad.
In a move that signals his intent to elevate Ghana’s music influence, the hitmaker has recently launched a recording studio in the United Kingdom. He described the relocation as part of a broader effort to make Ghanaian music resonate on a global scale.
“In the UK, they have their type of genres. They have producers who are doing afrobeats and that kind of jams I was doing back then. Being here is going to be a serious thing to start Ghanaian sound to the world easily. That is one of the reasons why I am here as well,” the veteran producer explained.
