I Won’t Change for Anyone’s Idea of Style – Yaa Jackson Stands Her Ground

Ghanaian singer and actress Yaa Jackson is standing tall in her truth, unapologetically embracing her bold identity despite mounting public critique. Known for her striking fashion choices and genre-blending music, the outspoken entertainer says staying authentic matters more than public approval.

In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, Yaa Jackson shrugged off criticism surrounding her style, maintaining that her appearance is a form of personal expression, not a performance for the public.

“Oh, the comments! I’m not worried about what people say about my style. Fashion is subjective, and I’m all about being true to myself. If people love it, great! If not, that’s okay too,” she said.

While her outfits often spark debate, Yaa insists that her day-to-day persona is different from what fans see online and on stage.

“I won’t change for someone else’s idea of style. Besides, on an ordinary day, you will not see Yaa Jackson dressed like that,” Jackson added.

Yaa Jackson’s evolution from Kumawood child star to recording artiste has been anything but conventional. Now immersed in music, she says the medium gives her space to express raw emotions in a way acting doesn’t always allow.

“Honestly, I love both music and acting. I think they’re both forms of storytelling, just in different ways. Right now, I’m leaning more towards music because it allows me to express myself in a personal and raw way. However, I will continue to explore both passions,” she explained.

With her latest single Moses, a blend of R&B and Afrobeat, released on June 6, 2025, Yaa says she’s focusing on spreading love through sound.

“My new single is all about spreading love. It’s titled Moses, and it’s a fusion of R&B and Afrobeat. The song is out now, and the video will be dropping soon on YouTube,” Yaa Jackson announced.
