Famous Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., otherwise known as Shatta Wale, has used both his platform and performance to throw his support behind President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, urging the nation’s youth to do the same for the sake of their financial future.

The outspoken artiste made his bold political appeal on Sunday, July 6, during a charged performance at the 2025 GHALCA President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium. In between tracks, Wale paused to deliver a message of economic hope and political support to the youth in attendance.

“From now till the next election support this government. If you are a youth and you want to see money in your pocket then support this government because it has come to put money in your pocket,” he declared, drawing loud applause from the crowd.

Shatta Wale’s endorsement didn’t end on stage. That evening, he took to Facebook to express appreciation for the President’s leadership style and vision, describing him as a leader who values performance and youth inclusion.

“The man who rewards your hard work with a smile and can also terminate your contract if you don’t deliver. Good evening Mr. President. We’re grateful for your commitment to empowering the youth and making us part of your vision,” he wrote.

The Shatta Movement boss also extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for acknowledging his fanbase and brand. “Thanks to the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama for this great honor and to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for making the Shatta Movement Empire/Gaza being part of this historic celebration,” the post added.

While Wale electrified fans with his performance, the football pitch delivered equal excitement. In a classic showdown watched by President Mahama himself, Kumasi Asante Kotoko pulled off a stunning 2-1 comeback victory over rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, keeping the rivalry fierce and the evening unforgettable.
