“Yes, but no money!” – King Paluta Reacts Angrily to Boomplay Streaming Report

King Paluta

A celebratory post by Boomplay Music Ghana has triggered an unexpected backlash from King Paluta, who is questioning what streaming success really means for artistes.

The platform had taken to X to spotlight its top 10 most streamed artistes in Ghana for the first quarter of 2026, applauding their performance between January and March and urging fans to keep the streams coming.

What began as a routine industry highlight soon drew a sharp response from King Paluta, who cut through the excitement with a pointed remark that shifted the focus entirely.

In his reaction, the rapper wrote: “Yes, but no money!”

He followed up with a stronger message, signalling deeper frustration with the system behind the numbers: “You people are taking us for granted and it’s sooo wrong ! @BoomplayMusic !!!”

His comments have since reframed the conversation, drawing attention to persistent concerns about how artistes are compensated despite racking up significant streaming figures.

Boomplay’s post aimed to celebrate digital milestones, but the reaction has instead reignited debate about whether those numbers translate into meaningful earnings for the musicians behind the music.

The company has yet to respond publicly to the remarks.
