Sarkodie and Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Ghanaian rap powerhouse, Sarkodie, has earned a powerful endorsement from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as anticipation builds for his upcoming Rapperholic Concert set for September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

On July 18, 2025, Sarkodie, known privately as Michael Owusu Addo, paid a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace to personally brief the Asantehene on plans to stage the concert in Kumasi for the first time since the Rapperholic brand launched 12 years ago.

Moved by Sarkodie’s visit and announcement, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II declared his intention to attend the event in person, marking a significant moment in Ghana’s cultural and entertainment landscape.

“He mentioned that he feels it will not be wrong if he is there himself this year to also enjoy the show,” Sarkodie shared after the visit.

The revered monarch lauded the rapper’s longstanding dedication and respectful demeanor, urging him to remain grounded even as his success grows.

He “commended Sarkodie for his consistency and humility and encouraged him to maintain these values as he continues to soar in his career.”
