The Creative Arts Agency will host a national candlelight vigil in memory of Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba, at Accra’s Independence Square on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The tribute event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

To further honour his legacy, the Fosu family has announced that a Book of Condolence will be made available to the public at Daddy Lumba’s private residence, located at House Number 12, Kinshasha Crescent, Accra (GA-332-9264). Mourners can pay their respects from Tuesday, July 29, 2025, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

In a statement dated July 27, 2025, the family expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming show of love and sympathy received from fans, colleagues, and the public since the beloved musician’s passing after a brief illness.

“In this time of deep grief, your kindness and solidarity have brought us great comfort,” the statement noted.

The family also appealed for continued privacy as they navigate this difficult period.

“We kindly ask the public to continue to respect the privacy of the family as they mourn their lost icon, while also joining us to celebrate the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of our beloved Daddy Lumba.”

Details about the final funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be announced at a later time. Daddy Lumba passed on at the age of 60.
