Ghanaian singer Gyakie has opened up about the emotional pressures of fame, saying she is learning to build resilience even though criticism sometimes affects her.
During a discussion with Kwame Dadzie on Hitz FM, the “Rent Free” singer was asked if her time in the music industry had helped her develop a thick skin.
Gyakie admitted that while she is growing tougher, it is impossible to completely shut out the weight of public scrutiny.
“I am growing a tough skin…yes I have it but sometimes you can’t just help it because it’s blood that’s running through your body, it’s not anything else. Sometimes it will pinch you a little bit but you just have to toughen up,” she explained.
Her candid remarks highlighted the difficult balance artists face between staying strong and acknowledging their humanity. Gyakie accepted that the journey is one of learning to endure criticism without letting it overshadow her artistry.
