Ghanaian Highlife legend Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has revealed that he is the proud father of eighteen children with nine women, declaring that he has no intention of keeping it a secret.
During an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the veteran musician said that while his admission might raise eyebrows, he values openness over public approval.
“I have 18 children with nine different women. I know people will bash me, but honestly, what do you gain by hiding something that’s already there? All my children know each other. When you see how united they are, you’d even think they came from one woman. The youngest is four months old,” he said.
Kaakyire described his growing family as a blessing from God, adding that he feels grateful for the gift of fatherhood. He noted that many couples struggle to have a child, yet he has been fortunate enough to raise many. His youngest, he shared, is only four months old.
The musician also spoke candidly about his energy and optimism, saying he would gladly welcome more children if the opportunity arose. “I wanted 25 children. If it should happen that way, I would be very excited,” he disclosed.
Kaakyire emphasized that his children have developed a close relationship with one another, despite having different mothers. Their unity, he said, often surprises people and reflects the love and harmony that define his family.
