In a Distrustful Industry, Akwaboah Jnr Finds a True Confidant in Fameye

Akwaboah and Fameye

In an industry he believes is often short on loyalty, Ghanaian musician Akwaboah Jnr says Fameye is the one person he can truly depend on.

During an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Akwaboah explained that his connection with the “Nothing I Get” singer is unlike any other, describing their friendship as sincere and enduring.

“There is one person whom I talk a lot with, we share our problems, and that is Fameye. He is a perfect guy. When we talk, he will tell you the reality in life… He is the only person I can invite home so we can talk,” Akwaboah said.

He contrasted this trusted bond with the wider creative scene, where, in his view, colleagues often reach out only when they need something. “We don’t love ourselves in this industry. They only come to you when they need something from you, but after that, they will ignore you,” he added.

Looking back on how the friendship began, Akwaboah recalled, “We became friends when we went to the state. We grew closer, and ever since, we have remained close, sharing things that no one knows.”
