Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, has sent out a passionate message to fellow artistes and the media following the massive attendance at ShattaFest 2025.
The event, held at the Independence Square in Accra on October 18, reportedly drew an estimated 673,000 fans, an overwhelming turnout that coincided with the musician’s birthday celebration.
Taking to social media after the show, Shatta Wale reflected on the significance of the moment and urged his peers to embrace discipline and hard work instead of competition.
“Any artiste in Ghana can also do what I did at the Independence Square with discipline and hard work,” he wrote. “Please let us stop comparing us the artistes. Me, I’m tired of this time-wasting statements. I only came to show every youth the road and that, ‘Impossible go turn possible.’”
In his post, the Shatta Movement boss also appealed to the Ghanaian media and entertainment industry to change how they engage with artistes, stressing that constructive narratives are essential for growth.
“Media houses, bloggers, TV and radio presenters, fans, artistes, pundits… It’s time for us to change the narratives. Time no deh,” he said, adding, “No one should undermine this statement because the world is watching. Since most of you in the media space are not aware, you speak anyhow on my many platforms. Let’s learn from the job and that should be that.”
Shatta Wale’s call comes after a night many fans described as one of the biggest open-air music gatherings in Ghana’s history, reinforcing his long-standing message that perseverance and focus can turn “impossible” dreams into reality.
