“Daddy Lumba’s Spirit Is Sad” – Prophet Kumchacha Urges Postponement of Funeral to 2026

Prophet Kumchacha and Daddy Lumba

Prophet Kumchacha has warned of potential tragedy if the funeral of Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, proceeds on December 13, 2025.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on November 22, 2025, the prophet said he had seen the late musician in his dreams at least twice, appearing in handcuffs and visibly weeping. Kumchacha explained that unresolved issues surrounding the burial could trigger consequences in both the spiritual and physical realms. He recommended postponing the funeral to around June 2026.

“I have had several dreams and as I speak, Daddy Lumba’s spirit is sad. In the spiritual realm, he is in handcuffs and weeping. If they try to bury him on December 13, something tragic will happen spiritually and it will be felt in the physical world as well. They should move the funeral to around the sixth month of next year,” Kumchacha noted.

He added that his visions also showed that anyone obstructing the burial or disturbing peace within the family could face dire repercussions. According to the prophet, the spirit of Daddy Lumba would come for three people after the funeral to join him in the graveyard.

“I also saw that Daddy Lumba said anyone who refuses to allow his burial to be held peacefully, and for peace to reign in the family, he will come and take three persons with him to the graveyard,” Kumchacha added.

Meanwhile, Ernestina Fosuh, the elder sister of the late musician, has rejected the December 13 date set for the funeral. Speaking to the media after court proceedings on November 21, 2025, she said she would not allow the family, particularly Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, to proceed on that day.

“Charles is not a fowl, so two weeks aren’t enough. Therefore, the funeral on December 13, 2025, will not take place… why are we rushing?” she queried.

Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025, had his burial originally scheduled for December 6, 2025, before the date was shifted to December 13. The change was made following a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, where a new funeral committee chaired by Dadiesoabahene was appointed to manage the arrangements.
