Ghanaian rapper Guru is contemplating a dramatic career shift, from the mic to the courtroom.
The rapper, born Maradona Yeboah Adjei, disclosed during an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM that he’s considering life as a legal professional, and may soon be greeted with the title, Esquire.
Though he’s long been rooted in the world of music, Guru revealed that his ambitions have expanded beyond the stage.
“My dream is about to change, but I want to really be sure of it before I can publicly discuss it. I think things will go well bit by bit, considering where I went to get my knowledge, the switch wouldn’t be difficult,” he said.
The ‘Lapaz Toyota’ composer also reflected on his leadership tenure as SRC President at the University of Ghana, emphasizing the lessons, both inspiring and challenging, that shaped him.
At this stage, Guru has yet to reveal when or where he plans to pursue law studies, insisting the process is still unfolding. However, he left a cryptic hint for his supporters:
“Don’t be surprised when you hear I’m addressed as an esquire in the near future. I’m on that path, but I’m still thinking and planning, so for now, I don’t want to reveal much.”
