We Will Beat You If… – Shatta Wale Fires Back at Critics

Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale wants his critics to know that nothing about him has changed. The famous Ghanaian dancehall artiste says he is the same person the public has always known, even as conversations about his conduct resurface after a moment at the 2025 Tidal Rave turned into a social media storm.

The debate reignited when a viral clip from the event showed his personal assistant, Abonko, stepping in to stop MC Kojo Manuel from getting close to the artiste during his performance. The footage stirred frustration online, with many arguing that Abonko had acted out of line and that Shatta Wale was encouraging unprofessional behaviour.

As the discussions grew louder, the Shatta Movement leader took to TikTok to push back at what he described as attempts to twist narratives about him. He said he sees many of the complaints as intentional attacks and made it clear he is prepared to defend himself whenever he feels his image is being mishandled.

In the livestream, Wale cautioned those who comment about him carelessly. He said he will not let targeted criticism slide and will respond in ways he believes necessary to protect his name.

“I have decided to be quiet, so this time if you get a problem and you don’t address it well online, we will beat you, and we will see what you can do.

“I am trying to make my business look proper. If I have not called you into my business, don’t come into it. If you are walking in your lane, do that, but don’t compare an artiste to me or else I will beat you or make them touch you,” he said.

He dismissed claims that he has softened or changed, insisting that the version of Shatta Wale people see today is the same one they have always known.

“Those saying that Shatta Wale has changed, go and tell them I am still the same. I won’t change for any of you. I don’t give a fuck about what you think anymore. What you guys did has even given me the leverage to be where I am now,” Shatta Wale further stated.

Below is a video of his statement.
